Our services include Meals on Wheels, School Lunches, Environmental Improvements business and Community advice and information. We work with the Local Employment Service (LES) in offering training and employment opportunities for the local community.

St Mary’s AID launches “Historical Limerick Up Close and Personal” Walking Tour

“Historical Limerick-Up Close and Personal” offers an intimate panoramic encounter
with the riches of historical Limerick. The itinerary includes some of
Limerick’s most famous historical locations including St Mary’s Cathedral, Hunt
Museum, Sarsfield Bridge, Treaty Stone and King Johns Castle.
The
walk lead by tour guide Gerry Moyler will convene at The Widows Almshouses near
King John’s Castle Nicholas Street. It
will proceed to St Mary’s Cathedral, St Mary’s Band Hall home of “McNamara’s
Band”, Baal’s Bridge, the Custom House and Hunt Museum.
Tour
Guide Gerry Moyler has an extensive knowledge of local history and has
assembled a tour that is historic, entertaining and enjoyable for tourists,
school groups and individuals alike. Walking Tours have proven very popular for
St Mary’s AID in the past with popular demand and Limerick’s position of
European City of Culture 2014 has led to the launch of “Historical Limerick-Up Close and
Personal".

Mary’s Area Integrated Developement (AID) will soon launch “Historical Limerick-Up Close and Personal”
an exciting new Walking Tour of Historical Limerick.
A
refreshments stop at the Hunt Museum including a question/answer session with
the Tour guide is a unique point of “Historical Limerick-Up Close and Personal".
The
tour proceeds to Sylvester O’Halloran Bridge, Sarsfield Bridge, Clancy’s Strand
Treaty Stone, Thomond Bridge the Bard of Thomond Statue ending at King Johns
Castle
Duration
of “Historical Limerick-Up Close and Personal" is one hour and forty five minutes. Details of Tour times, ticket
